Canadian water company Flow Water opens packaging plant

May 2, 2017 – Today, Flow Water opened its first brand-owned manufacturing facility — a new 21,000 sq. ft. plant in Aurora, Ont. — which it says will allow it to oversee the entire value chain from spring to pack.

Founded in 2015 by Nicholas Reichenbach, the Canadian company sources its water from the family-owned artesian spring in Bruce County, Ont. Promising zero industrial processing and all-natural filtering, Flow’s water is packaged in non-PET and BPA-free Tetra Pak paperboard carton. The boxed water is currently listed at more than 4,500 retailers across the country including Whole Foods, Loblaws, Rexall and Sobeys.

“Today’s plant opening further positions Flow as the environmental leader in the premium water category,” said Reichenbach, CEO and founder. “By opening our own facility in collaboration with the global packaging leaders at Tetra Pak, we have the opportunity to amplify innovation, while having firsthand control of our environmental impact.”

Home to the Tetra Pak A3/Flex filling machine, the facility boasts new package innovations including the Dreamcap, a closure cap that is “designed to suit facial geometry, providing optimal control and beverage flow for Flow’s on-the-go customers,” says the company, noting that the cap is made of plastic derived from sugar cane.
