Ministry of Labour announces latest safety blitz

In February 2011, the Ministry of Labour will launch a blitz targeting safety at loading docks. The following will be of particular interest: workers being struck by vehicles in loading areas; improperly blocked and chocked trailers; proper function of dock (trailer) locking devices, barriers, signal lamps, etc.; and safe work instructions, procedures and training of personnel working with or near loading docks.
