IDEX Technologies opening new plant in Waterloo

Aug. 1, 2017 – Officials say almost 50 manufacturing jobs are coming north as a U.S. company plans to open a new plant in Waterloo.

Chicago, Ill.-based IDEX Technologies — which makes pharmaceuticals, biotech and food processing materials — says it’s expanding its manufacturing in the city by adding two new product lines.

HR director Sairoz Mohamed says one of the major selling points of the region is the skilled work force.

He says the company has already hired most of the workers who will operate the plant, but will soon be looking to hire more people as the operation grows.
