September 4, 2017 | By Manufacturing AUTOMATION

Sep. 4, 2017 – Bosch Rexroth’s IndraControl XM21/22 programmable logic controllers (PLC) boast the speed of the Sercos automation bus combined with Rexroth’s IndraControl S20 input/output (I/O) series for a complete and scalable control system, describes the company.
Optional extension modules further expand the integration options, while a service-friendly design reduces installation costs, it notes. The controllers are available with either an Intel 600 or 1,300 MHz ATOM processor (XM21/22), along with an onboard Sercos master featuring a cycle time as low as 250 μs. Decentralized I/Os, drives and additional system machinery are connected by Ethernet-based Sercos as a universal automation bus for system-wide networking. Enhancing the scalability, the XM controller uses Rexroth’s standard IndraMotion MLC system firmware for motion logic applications, it notes. Designed for factory automation and motion logic applications, the IndraControl XM platform promises to be easy to configure and features real-time data processing capabilities.
