Robert Sullivan named Heartland Automation pres/CEO

Oct. 12, 2017 – Heartland Automation has appointed Robert Sullivan president and CEO.

He is the co-founder and former president and chief development officer of Symbotic, a mobile robotic company, bringing nearly three decades of leadership experience and product innovation to Heartland Automation. Sullivan holds more than 30 patents and Heartland Automation describes him as one of the leading innovators in the mobile robot industry.

“Rob brings a rare combination of business leadership, engineering expertise, and product innovation to Heartland Automation. We are very excited about the direction Rob wants to take the company and the opportunities that will be created for all of our stakeholders,” said James Bradshaw, Heartland Automation chairman.

“This is an exciting time for Heartland Automation and especially its AutoGuide mobile robotic product line given the rapidly expanding need for mobile robotics in manufacturing, distribution, and logistics,” said Sullivan. “I’m thrilled to be taking the president and CEO role at this pivotal time in the mobile robotics market.”

Heartland Automation is a manufacturer of mobile robots (AGVs) and an integrator of material handling solutions. It manufactures its products in Georgetown, Ky., with technical centres in both Troy, Mich., and Wilmington, Mass.
