Turck acquires remaining 50% interest in Turck Chartwell Canada Inc.

Nov. 6, 2017 – Turck has acquired the remaining 50 per cent interest in Turck Chartwell Canada Inc. and is 100 per cent owner of the new subsidiary.

Starting in January 2018, the company name will become Turck Canada Inc. The automation company initially acquired the first 50 per cent interest in its long-term Canadian sales partner Chartwell Automation Inc. in 2014.

Mark and Steve Boehmer, the two founders of Chartwell, have signed long-term management contracts and will continue to lead the company as president and vice-president sales and marketing.

“This is a very exciting event for both companies, for our employees, our distributor partners and customers,” said Steve. “Our greatest assets have always been our people and now as a Turck subsidiary we believe that it will allow us to provide a wider array of services with enhanced knowledge and expertise. As a fully owned Turck company we will enjoy the benefit of access to all of the resources available through the world wide network that Turck has established.”

“Our longstanding partnership was due in part to how highly compatible our two firms operated. Chartwell has been Turck’s exclusive partner in Canada since 1983 having successfully grown the Turck brand and name into one of the leading automation suppliers in Canada. We had similar corporate cultures, values and philosophies on doing business. Turck Chartwell Canada Inc. will continue to provide outstanding application and technical support for the array of products in our core categories of sensing, fieldbus, interface and connectivity,” continued Christian Wolf, managing director of the Turck Group.
