
Amada Miyachi America expands Detroit technical centre

Jan. 13, 2018 – Amada Miyachi America, a manufacturer of resistance welding, laser welding, marking, cutting, and micro-machining equipment and systems, has announced its newly expanded and enhanced Detroit, Mich., technical centre.
The updated facility features 5,500-square-feet of laboratory space devoted to application development services for welding, marking, ablation, scribing and texturing of metals and plastics. Also onsite is an expanded metallurgical lab for examining laser or resistance welds to analyze weld penetration and joint quality.
Along with access to equipment, the expanded lab will provide customers with onsite expertise. Application experts will be on hand to work with customers to help develop joining or marking processes, especially for medical, aerospace, automotive and electric vehicle battery production and joining of cells.
