Feb. 8, 2017 – Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC), a not-for-profit consortium serving and supporting Canada’s manufacturing industry, has announced several changes to its board of directors and daily operations.

Jim McCoubrey, chair of the board, will be transitioning to director, board of directors. EMC says McCoubrey has played a “vital part in forming the core principles and values upon which EMC has been built,” adding that his knowledge and expertise will continue to be “integral to shaping the future direction of EMC.”

Al Diggins, EMC president and general manager, will be transitioning into the role of chair of the board, treasurer and general manager. Diggins will remain active in daily operations during the transition period to help ensure EMC’s mission remains at the forefront of the organization’s objectives.

Shawn Casemore, board of directors for EMC, will transition into the role of president. His experience combined with his exposure to EMC as a member will “position him well to ensure his success in the role of president,” says EMC.

“In bringing Shawn into the role of president, we bring someone to EMC who understands today’s manufacturing industry and is committed to ensuring our members have the tools, resources and support necessary that will help them achieve short-term and long-term success,” said Diggins.
