New Balluff e-stop for safety over IO-link

Apr. 26, 2018 – Balluff is widening its safety product portfolio with the introduction of its new emergency stop device (e-stop).

The company says the e-stop is “easily and inexpensively connected” to the Balluff Safety Over IO-Link module or to any safety controller using standard M12 connectors, which is designed to eliminate terminations and reduce the incidence of mis-wiring. According to Balluff, the e-stop switch initiates an immediate stop command and can be used for personal protection functions. An available adapter allows the device to daisy chain to multiple e-stop locations on one machine, Balluff explains, adding that the connectorized e-stop switch can plug-and-play with the Safety Over IO-Link hub to create a flexible and modular safety solution.
