Wainbee purchases Spécialité Hydraulique in Quebec

Spécialité Hydraulique Côte Nord Inc. (SHCN), located in Sept-Iles, Que., was acquired by Mississauga, Ont.’s Wainbee Ltd., a national distributor of fluid power and automation components and systems. As a result of this acquisition, Wainbee now has 13 locations coast-to-coast servicing customers from Vancouver to Halifax.

“Wainbee began doing business in Quebec in 1959 and prior to this acquisition, we have been serving the province from locations in Montreal, Quebec and Saguenay/Chicoutimi,” Wainbee president Ron Rodger said.

“The purchase of SHCN extends our strong presence in Quebec to cover the Côte Nord and Labrador regions, as well as expanding our existing business in the mining and metals markets.”

“Wainbee’s existing line-up of hydraulic, pneumatic, industrial tool, electromechanical and filtration products and services complement SHCN’s very well,” Rodger added. “Our goal is to continue to provide the high level of customer service and product expertise that SHCN customers have come to expect, while adding additional products and services through Wainbee.”
