Javi Richmond joins Weidmuller Canada; Terry Hodgson moves to Weidmuller USA

November 28, 2018 – The Weidmüller Group is pleased to announce that Javi Richmond recently joined the company as managing director of Weidmuller Canada, replacing Terry Hodgson, who has been promoted to president of Weidmuller Inc., USA and executive vice-president of Weidmuller Inc., North America.

As managing director of Weidmuller Canada, Richmond reports directly to Hodgson and has primary responsibility for leading the Canada organization in the areas of sales, marketing, finance, human resources and operations.

Richmond brings extensive and demonstrated experience in the electrical and electronics manufacturing industry. Prior to joining Weidmuller, Richmond was employed by E.B. Horsman & Son, most recently in the position of vice-president of sales. During his tenure with E.B. Horsman & Son, Richmond also served as regional manager, with responsibility for strategic growth and supply planning. Richmond began his career in the electrical and electronics manufacturing industry with Weidmuller Canada. He first served as marketing coordinator and moved up to sales and management positions in British Columbia and was later promoted to eastern regional sales manager in Ontario.

Richmond earned a bachelor’s degree from York University in Toronto, Ontario, and an MBA from Royal Roads University in Vancouver, British Columbia. He served as board chairman of the BC Electrical Association from 2017 – 2018.

Hodgson now reports directly to José Carlos Álvarez Tobar, Weidmüller executive board member and chief marketing and sales officer. As executive vice-president of Weidmuller North America, Hodgson has full responsibility of Weidmuller operations in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Hodgson has been a part of the Weidmuller team for more than 17 years, beginning his career with Weidmuller as a sales representative in the Alberta market. He served most recently as the managing director of Weidmuller’s Canada operations in Markham, Ontario for ten years. While serving as managing director, he also had the Canadian responsibilities for Sprecher+Schuh, a division of Rockwell Automation.
