Balluff debuts absolute linear encoders with Siemens Drive-Cliq

Balluff has released a line of absolute magnetic linear encoders with Siemens Drive-Cliq interface that are designed to plug-and-play into Siemens motion controller environments.

The controller automatically detects the sensor and its basic settings. Its automatic status monitoring continuously checks the measurement quality, detecting any mechanical position shift during operation.

These two Siemens-certified versions – BML085L and BML08MH – join a robust family of absolute magnetic encoders that deliver absolute accuracy of position when end-of-travel is required.

They provide one µm position resolution and a stroke length of up to 48 m. Their system accuracy is +/- 12 µm and high read distance of 1.3 mm.

Additionally, the BML08MH version has an input for a temperature sensor, so that data can also pass through to the controller.
