China to build $2B AI research park

Jan. 9, 2018 – China is planning to build a 13.8 billion yuan (C$2.6 billion) artificial intelligence (AI) development park, according to Xinhua news agency.

Located in suburban Mentougou district in western Beijing, the park is expected to attract about 400 enterprises and will include a fifth generation mobile network, a super computer and Cloud services.

Xinhua reported that the AI research park will focus on developing areas such as high-speed Big Data, Cloud computing, biometric identification and deep learning.
