Manufacturing AUTOMATION is conducting a survey on the topic of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software in the manufacturing industry, in co-operation with Jonathan Gross, ERP analyst and vice-president with IT consultancy Pemeco.

Participants of this first annual Benchmark Study: ERP in Canadian Manufacturing and Distribution survey could win, among other things, an audit with an ERP expert (valued at $10,000). The feedback will be used to develop best-in-class procedures for selecting and implementing ERP systems. The results of the survey will provide detailed insights into the strategies that best-in-class companies use to select, implement and manage their ERP systems.

“More and more Canadian companies are investing in ERP software. However, as most people know, ERP projects contain significant risks and costs,” explains Gross. “This study is important because it will help companies learn how to drive ERP success, manage their risk and reduce their costs. In essence, this study will highlight the procedures that best-in-class companies use to select ERP, implement ERP and accelerate the ROI on their investment.”

Highlights from the survey results will be published in the June 2011 issue of Manufacturing AUTOMATION, and will be made available to all respondents.
