Electro-Federation Canada announces scholarship winners

Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) has announced the winners of its 2020 scholarship program.

Over $140,000 in scholarships, supported by the association’s member organizations, were awarded to students across the country last month.

The EFC scholarship program showcases an industry in an effort to attract young talent.

“The program also offers the opportunity for students to engage with EFC member companies offering employment and career opportunities,” says John Jefkins, vice-president member engagement and corporate partnerships for Electro-Federation Canada.

“The electrical and electronics industries have great jobs, competitive salaries and benefits plus aggressive careers paths in a sector with cutting-edge innovation.”

Among the winners are Melissa Montenegro of Mohawk College, and Itohansose Itua of University of Waterloo, the recipients of the newly established “Advancing Women in Tech” scholarships, sponsored by Rittal Systems Ltd.

Each received a scholarship of $1,750 to pursue a career in the electrical or manufacturing industry.
