EMC shakes up leadership with three new appointments

The Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) has announced several staff changes, which were effective as of February 12.

Amanda Doman, EMC’s director of finance, is now the vice-president and general manager.

“Since starting with EMC 20 years ago, I have watched manufacturers change and evolve with new products and technologies,” Doman says.

“It has been great to be part of our initiatives that allow us to assist these companies as they grow. I am excited to see the changes that are yet to come and what the future holds for manufacturing!”

Scott McNeil-Smith, national director, projects and partnerships for EMC is now vice-president, manufacturing sector performance.

“Working with the many thousands of manufacturers EMC has touched over the past 20-plus years, has been both a privilege and an exciting challenge,” McNeil-Smith says.

“As we continue the next phase of helping industry of all sizes to foresee the path towards excellence, Canada’s largest manufacturing consortium will be looking at needs, capabilities and solutions that have not been envisioned yet. I look forward to what the future will bring for EMC and its members, helping the Canadian manufacturing sector to grow and prosper.”

The final appointment is Bren de Leeuw, formerly operations manager, Western Canada for EMC, who is now vice-president, community partnerships and stakeholder relationships.

“I am absolutely delighted to be contributing to the success and growth of our EMC members and for Canadian manufacturers as a whole,” says de Leeuw.

“After nearly 20 years at EMC, without a doubt I continue to be amazed at the depth and breadth of products produced and marvel at the entrepreneurial spirit, ongoing ingenuity and at the innovative ideas which spur Canadian industry forward in a constantly growing global marketplace.”
