Serta Simmons Bedding appoints Daren Couture EVP Operations

Jun. 3, 2016 – Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) has hired Daren Couture as its executive vice-president, operations, succeeding the company’s previous operations leader, Mark Baron, who retired in April. Couture will report Michael Traub, CEO, effective immediately.

In this role, Couture will be responsible for all aspects of operations at SSB’s 39 manufacturing facilities in Canada, the U.S. and Puerto Rico, as well as the company’s supply chain and procurement processes. He is based at SSB’s Corporate Center in Atlanta, Ga.

“As SSB continues to reinvent the way mattresses are manufactured, Daren’s breadth and depth of experience across all facets of manufacturing operations, customer service and supply chain management will help take our operations to the next level,” said Traub. “We look forward to his contributions to our company as we build upon a superior business model and world-class operational capabilities.”

Couture most recently served as COO of the Philips Health Care Imaging Systems group where he was responsible for operations and integrated supply chain management for the medical imaging systems and devices manufacturer.

He has also previously worked as a senior vice-president, integrated supply chain; senior vice-president, global operations; process control manager; and plant manager at various businesses.
