CME to conduct monthly business conditions survey

December 17, 2008

OTTAWA, Ont. – The Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters recently announced that it will conduct a monthly survey of its members, as well as manufacturers and exporters across Canada, to provide real-time statistical information to business leaders and government officials.

In a letter to manufacturers on the CME website, the group’s president,
Jayson Myers, wrote, "In these very challenging economic times, CME is
trying to keep businesses and governments apprised of business
conditions affecting Canada’s manufacturing and exporting sector on a
regular and timely basis. Data from Statistics Canada is two months out
of date when it’s published. That is unacceptable given the fast-paced
developments in financial and industrial markets around the world."
Myers
invites you to participate in CME’s Business Conditions Survey. Your
response will be treated confidentially. Only aggregate data will be
published by CME. To take the survey, visit www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=fxLbAj9RLjDrRoPXD63Y_2fA_3d_3d.
