Deadline nears for new technology awards

Ottawa, Ont. – Manufacturers with innovative new technologies may want to hurry and apply for the 2008 Regional Innovation Awards Program from Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters.

According to CME, the Award for New Technology recognizes innovative excellence in the development, adoption and application of new technology in process or products.
Supported by National Research Council Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program, the award is handed out in each of the five regions across Canada (B.C./Yukon, Canada West, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic/Nunavut). CME will choose one award recipient and two finalists for their outstanding achievements, and all of the recipients will be showcased in CMEís national 20/20 magazine.
The deadline for submissions is June 30. Visit www.cme-mec.ca for more information or to apply for the awards. The CME will hand out the awards at a ceremony in Toronto on Oct. 20, 2008.
