Soon-to-be laid off manufacturing employees win lottery

Employees from an Ottawa manufacturing plant won $7 million playing Lotto 6/49 last week, and will collect almost $400,000 each.
Ten of the 18 winners were among 200 employees at Smart Technologies, a manufacturer of interactive whiteboards, who were given layoff notices earlier that week as the company announced it would shift its operation to Mexico in a cost-cutting move, the CBC reported.
