Claude Gravel has been named Canadian sales manager of Harting Canada, based in Montreal, Que. Gravel has 21 years experience in sales and distribution management with major electrical and electronic component companies, and holds degrees from both Purdue University and the University of Toronto.

The Harting Technology Group, a privately owned German manufacturer of electrical and electronic connectors, device terminations, network components and cable harnesses, opened its first Canadian sales office in Montreal last month.

“With a staff presence in Canada, Harting can promote leading-edge products and solutions to help customers improve their global competitiveness,” said Rolf Meyer, president and CEO of Harting, Inc., of North America and now Harting Canada, Inc. “Selling through our own Canadian organization means we can be more creative and flexible in what we offer. We’re not promising to be the low-price leader – after all, Harting manufactures high quality, high performance products built to last. But the Canadian market can expect our best value proposition ever. Also, look for us to be proactive in expanding our presence in growth areas like telecommunications and renewable energy.”

The Harting Technology Group employs more than 3,600 people globally across 36 subsidiaries.
