Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters will host a series of workshops across Ontario in February to educate manufacturers on how to be a part of the SMART program, which provides funding to eligible companies.

The SMART Prosperity Now program, administered by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) and funded by Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev), will provide funding to and allow manufacturers with an export focus to commercialize new technologies, enter new domestic and foreign markets, invest in sustainable and green technology, purchase new or upgraded equipment and technology, and implement efficiency improvements.

To be eligible for SMART Prosperity Now funding, applicants must be a small to mid-sized manufacturer in Southern Ontario with between 15 and 1,000 employees. These companies must be looking to invest in product and process improvements that will develop and expand their export opportunities and global competitiveness.

During the workshops, which are free for manufacturers, attendees will learn more about the SMART Prosperity Now program, including how to take advantage of the funding opportunities. Attendees will also meet experts who can help them on this journey.
