Eaton mobilizes to restore power in flooded Calgary

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton has deployed a team of engineers, technicians and equipment to help restore power in Calgary, Alberta, and surrounding areas, where residents and businesses are suffering from the devastating effects of recent flooding. Eaton is working with local officials, utilities and businesses to replace or repair electrical equipment as needed.

“In the aftermath of such an event, it is essential for communities to have a recovery plan and support,” said Perry D’Ortenzio, vice president and general manager, Electrical Sector, Canada, Eaton. “In the wake of this disaster, restoring power as quickly as possible is crucial. Eaton is tapping its regional manufacturing facilities and service teams to support local efforts.”

With its 500 employees and multiple facilities in the province, Eaton is currently helping to refurbish or quickly deliver new electrical distribution equipment. Local Eaton facilities in the area include:

• An Aftermarket Centre of Excellence dedicated to reconditioning and repairing circuit breakers to “like-new” condition.
• Two regional satellite service centres, specializing in custom industrial control and electrical distribution manufacturing.
• A national manufacturing facility for motor control centres.
• A medium voltage power centre plant.
