Ontario’s Eclipse Automation plans U.S. expansion

Cambridge, Ont.- based Eclipse Automation says it will expand its operations to Charlotte, N.C., by opening Eclipse Automation Southeast, LLC, effective March 1, 2014. The new facility will feature 25,000 square feet of engineering and manufacturing space, and be located in the Whitehall Technology Park, in Charlotte.

“We have recognized an exponential demand for our innovative custom automation solutions over the past three years and the need to expand our operations to better service our customers,” said Steve Mai, president and CEO of Eclipse Automation in Cambridge, Ont. “We have not only identified the need to expand operations, but the equally important requirement to bring our services closer to customers in the U.S.A.”

Eric Nitsche, president of Eclipse Automation Southeast in Charlotte, added, “We are extremely confident that the Eclipse business model will flourish in the Southeastern U.S. The region continues to be vibrant and is poised for further growth. In the end, we want to ensure that this active manufacturing sector has ready access to Eclipse’s exceptional solutions and our people who deliver them.”

Eclipse Automation, founded in 2001, is a supplier of custom automated manufacturing equipment for the solar, health sciences, transportation, mining, consumer/industrial and telecommunications/electronic industries. With a workforce of more than 150 employees in Cambridge, Eclipse provides in-house system design, fabrication, system integration and commissioning capability.
