EAO celebrates the opening of its new North American headquarters with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

HMI solutions provider EAO Corporation recently celebrated the grand opening of its new North American headquarters in Shelton, Conn., at an event featuring local and state officials.

EAO moved from Milford, Conn., to Shelton as a result of a strategic decision to increase manufacturing capabilities in the U.S. This new location more than doubles EAO’s engineering and manufacturing capacity.

“This new location underscores EAO’s commitment to manufacturing in the United States, as well as growing jobs and aiding in the economic growth of the state of Connecticut,” said Lance A. Scott, president, EAO Corporation. “Like many businesses, we are contacted regularly from other states making lucrative offers. We had a choice, and our decision was to stay in Connecticut and continue to foster innovation, advance technology and offer quality jobs in our home state.”

The event featured a facility tour marked by an official ribbon cutting led by Lance Scott, with Rob Michalik, director of legislative affairs, State of Connecticut; Mayor Mark Lauretti, city of Shelton; Peter Gioia, vice-president and economist, Connecticut Business and Industry Association; and Bill Purcell from the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The 20,000-square-foot facility includes 8,000 square feet of office and engineering space, 8,000 square feet for production and assembly, and 4,000 square feet for warehouse operations. The new location also allows modern, custom-design capabilities from concept to production that will better serve EAO’s North American customer base.

Scott added that moving to the Shelton facility allows EAO to focus on enhancing the company’s engineering and design technologies directly to its customers in North America.

“This underscores the evolving nature of EAO’s business and demonstrates our commitment to keeping human machine interface design and application solutions closer to our customers.”

EAO is a Swiss-based company with worldwide headquarters in Olten, Switzerland.
