July 2, 2014 – The Wireless Industrial Networking Alliance (WINA) has launched its 2014 Wireless Survey with the goal of gauging the adoption and trends of wireless use in an industrial setting.

“The Wireless Industrial Networking Alliance’s mission is to provide unbiased information and education about industrial wireless technologies and applications to accelerate the widespread deployment of wireless in the industrial market, and this annual survey is one of the tools we use to gauge the adoption and trends of wireless use in the industrial setting,” said Ian Verhappen, WINA chairman and Manufacturing AUTOMATION columnist.

The information gathered in the survey will be compared against past results to look for trends, which will be shared with WINA members, though each individual’s privacy will be respected. The results will also form the basis for future work of the Alliance.

All participants will be given the option at the end of the 28-question survey, which Verhappen said should take five to 10 minutes to complete, to receive a condensed summary of the results.
