PM Harper visits Bosch Rexroth Canada head office

Feb. 2, 2015 – Prime minister Stephen Harper took some time last month to visit Bosch Rexroth Canada at its headquarters in Welland, Ont.

Bosch Rexroth Canada president Tom Light said, “This was a unique and tremendous opportunity for our company. I was honoured that the prime minister took the time out of his busy schedule to visit and tour our headquarters and meet with our associates, as well as witness our unique technology first hand.”

According to the company, Harper took a “keen interest” in speaking with the engineering staff, and received a brief overview about Bosch Rexroth’s applications and solutions. The tour was rounded out with a final walk through of the machine, fabrication and assembly facility.

The Welland facility and head office is a strategic operation for the company’s business and activities in Canada, said Bosch Rexroth. The 140,000-square-foot space manufactures hydraulic systems, hydraulic manifold assemblies and electric/electronic control panels.

Concluding the tour, Michael Langstaff, vice-president of finance and administration for Robert Bosch, and Dino Paladino, director systems for Bosch Rexroth Canada, presented Harper with a plaque to commemorate the visit.
