Torstar to sell Vaughan printing facility and surrounding lands

Sept. 20, 2016 – Torstar Corp. says it is selling the land and buildings in Vaughan, Ont., which were previously used to operate the Toronto Star printing facility, for a purchase price of $54,250,000. Torstar anticipates that the sale will be completed late in the third quarter or early in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Plans to shutter the printing plant were first announced early this year. The closure will affect 220 full-time employees and 65 part-time staff, said the company.
