Oct. 17, 2016 – FEV North America (FEV) announced today it has acquired a 51-per-cent stake in automation and testing products maker TrigTec.

Michigan-based TrigTec serves the industrial market with products that provide in-process manufacturing related testing capabilities, along with creating automated systems for plant processes. According to the parties, the acquisition provides FEV with “additional exposure to in-process testing, which complements [FEV’s] extensive portfolio of testing capabilities offered by its testing solutions division.”

“We design and deliver test facilities that are commissioned with equipment from our field-proven product line including dynamometers, conditioning systems, instrumentation, and our popular data acquisition and control system, Morphee Software Suite,” said Patrick Hupperich, president and CEO of FEV North America. “By adding TrigTec’s capabilities under the FEV brand, we are able to extend that brand further into the production process and leveraging that exposure into the ability to provide more production-related solutions to customers around the world. TrigTec’s proven production resources coupled with its seasoned engineering resources and established customer relationships will help FEV extend its product offerings to both TrigTec and FEV customers.”

In addition to engineering, TrigTec’s capabilities include fabrication, machining, and integration of all components.

“We see this agreement as beneficial to both parties,” noted Steve Kravis, president and minority owner of TrigTec. “The benefit that we gain from leveraging FEV’s international footprint will help TrigTec’s business to expand and give us access to new markets that we otherwise would have found difficult to expand into.”
