Mississauga, Ont. – Canadaís Industrial Accident Prevention Association has earned a prestigious award for its First 4 Weeks training program.

IAPAís multimedia First 4 Weeks program finished in first place in the Multimedia Training category at the 7th International Film and Multimedia Festival in Seoul, Korea during the XVIII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work: A Global Forum for Prevention, Safety and Health at Work: A Societal Responsibility.
The program is a comprehensive, job-specific health and safety orientation program that aims to train the supervisor, as well as the new and young worker, to reduce their risk of injuries on the job especially during the first month of work. IAPA says the training is especially important, considering young and new, inexperienced workers are over five times more likely to be injured during their first four weeks on the job.
The presentation of the award took place at the closing ceremonies of the XVIII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work on July 2, 2008.
