Motion Industries to acquire automation company Axis

February 15, 2019 – Motion Industries, Inc., a distributor of maintenance, repair and operation replacement parts, has agreed to acquire an automation and robotics company based in Danvers, Mass.

Motion Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company, will acquire Axis New England and Axis New York on March 1, 2019, subject to closing conditions.

Founded in 1994, Axis serves the Northeast U.S. with expertise in advanced machine automation. The company will continue its focus on motion control, robotics and machine vision. Areas of specialty include precision components, electro-mechanical assemblies and fully engineered automation systems.

With annual sales of over $5 billion and over 550 locations, Motion Industries is an industrial parts distributor of bearings, mechanical power transmission, electrical and industrial automation, hydraulic and industrial hose, hydraulic and pneumatic components, industrial products, safety products and material handling.
