Sep. 18, 2017 – Kinova Inc., a designer and manufacturer of lightweight, multi-faceted solutions that foster human-robot interaction, is receiving $500,000 from the Government of Canada to acquire robotic manufacturing equipment.

The $500,000 repayable contribution awarded through Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions’ (CED’s) Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) will help Kinova acquire a 3D coordinate measuring machine, calibration video cameras and characterization equipment to improve the quality of its robotic arms, meet medical standards and expand its product line.

The company operates in three markets: assistive robotics, which give humans with reduced mobility more independence; innovative robotics, which drives academic research; and medical robotics, which helps health professionals treat their patients more efficiently.
