Ontario is offering investment support of $513,200 to Evik Diagnostic Innovations through the Ontario Together Fund. This is part of the company’s $1.5 million investment fund to enhance laboratory test mixture production. Medical device manufacturers have been increasing their demand for the laboratory test mixture, used in diagnostic devices, due to COVID-19.

“To be competitive and resilient in times of pandemic, companies like us must find ways to be innovative and collaborative,” said Vladimir Evtodienko, CEO of Evik Diagnostic Innovations. “We want to thank the Ontario government for their support.”

Ontario-based Evik Diagnostic Innovations manufactures medical diagnostic components such as assay reagents in the form of freeze-dried pellets. The assay reagents are used in diagnostic devices to detect and analyze medical symptoms and infectious diseases such as COVID-19, HIV and Anthrax.

Evik Diagnostic Innovations is investing in an automated cartridge assembly line to ramp up reagent pellets production. The company also plans on purchasing robotic arms, setting up robotic stations and building an AI-driven assembly station.
