Plex Systems Inc. has added increased functionality to its Plex Online Cloud ERP for manufacturers solution to support complex assembly processes at manufacturing facilities. The new options allow manufacturers to improve productivity and increase visibility into the shop floor through the use of PLCs, assembly line support, automated replenishment and providing visual work instructions at each operation. The complex assembly functionality offers manufacturers the ability to generate unique part numbers and Bill of Materials (BOM) for optional configurations - one client has the potential for 30,000 optional configurations. Another advantage for the assembly line is the work instruction library, which dynamically builds work instructions with images and a control plan. This allows workers to always find proper instructions, regardless of the task. Work instructions are also dynamically linked to engineering changes, ensuring that the information is always current. www.plex.com
