Sept. 15, 2015 – Wieland Electric says its SLC series of safety light curtains offer trusted optoelectronic protection for machine operators and prevent unauthorized access.

Designed for use in a range of machine applications, the non-contact light curtains feature integrated double-scan technology to “avoid unwanted downtime in even the harshest operating conditions,” says the company. They can be made as Type 2 or Type 4 devices, and are available in five beam resolutions (14 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm and 90 mm), protection field heights spanning 150 mm – 1800 mm, and a variety of accessories. The series is available in two models: the SLC Standard, which features an LED display, double-scan technology, automatic start, and selectable transmission channels and range reduction to help minimize mutual interference, and the SLC Select offers the additional benefits of manual start/restart interlock, external device monitoring (EDM), and a seven-segment display for diagnostic and status messages.
