Jan. 13, 2015 – Doosan has announced the DNM 200/5AX five-axis vertical machining centre, describing it as compact, reliable, affordable and purpose-built.

As the newest member of the DNM series, the unit is ideal for machining complex prismatic parts by reducing set-up time and ensuring consistent accuracy without taking up too much valuable space on the shop floor, says the company. It features a built-in fourth and fifth axis trunnion table which claim to allow for the machining of multiple faces on complex prismatic workpieces without having to re-fixture. The platter size is 7.87 inches in diameter, allowing for a maximum work piece with a 11.81-in. diameter and a 7.87-in. height. The maximum table load is 88 lbs. All linear guideways feature roller type bearings, boasting three times more rigidity and double the lifespan. Additional benefits include optimal weight and force distribution, superior stiffness, accuracy and surface finish, says Doosan.
