Sep. 4, 2017 – Kollmorgen will be exhibiting its new AKD2G servo drives at Pack Expo 2017.

The AKD2G introduces a multicore Compute Engine – Servo on a Chip – that promises to be far more powerful than other servo drives. This new design accommodates changing load conditions immediately with a rapid current loop update rate of 1.28µs, says the company, adding that velocity and position loops updates are at 62.5µs and 250µs. As well, physical connections to the drive have been made simple, says Kollmorgen. The hybrid connector is optimized for single cable motors and the I/O cage-clamp terminal boasts easy connections. Multiple bus choices are available for system optimization, including EtherCAT & FSoE, and CANopen. Safety can be incorporated into the drive as well with the optional Safe Motion Monitor (SMM).
