SKF launches SP series miniature ball screws

Mar. 16, 2018 – The new SP series high-performance miniature ball screws from SKF Motion Technologies are designed to deliver “precise positioning, excellent repeatability, and quiet linear actuation.”

The internal ball recirculation system and thread design, according to SKF, enable higher speed capabilities and longer operating life compared with conventional rolled ball screws. SKF explains the series can help extend mini machine reliability, increase speed and output, and reduce noise for a range of automation, laboratory and other small equipment applications. A threaded nose promotes easy mounting and a lubrication hole is standard for accessible greasing, adds SKF. SP series ball screws range in diameter from 8 to 16mm and are available with leads from 2.5 mm to 5 mm and screw shaft lengths up to 2000 mm. These ball screw assemblies can be equipped with accessories for screw shafts and nuts and supplied with support bearing packages pre-assembled and ready to go.
