Moticont adds compact linear voice coil motor to lineup

February 26, 2019 – Moticont has added the LVCM-032-076-02 linear voice coil motor to its line of linear DC motors.

The motor has a stroke length of 2.5 in (63.5 mm) with a high force-to-size ratio of 1.8 lb (8.0 N) and a peak force of 5.7 lbs (25.3 N) at 10 per cent duty cycle.

This low-inertia, high-acceleration, brushless, high-speed linear DC motor has zero cogging and features high accuracy and high repeatability when operated in a closed loop as a DC servo motor.

The motor features a 10-32 UNC-2B threaded mounting hole in the centre of the housing and two 6-32-UNC-2B threaded mounting holes on the coil end. The compact 1.250 in (31.8 mm) diameter LVCM-032-076-02 linear voice coil motor, also called a moving coil motor, is ideal for medical devices, scanners and laser beam steering and filtering, work holding and clamping, assembly, testing, laser machining and drilling, wafer handling, optical focusing and dynamic vibration absorption.

A plug-and-play system including an encoder and servo controller are also available.
