Single-stage pumps

Monday December 06, 2010
KSB Pumps’ RPH series of single-stage pumps with radially split volutes has been engineered for extreme reliability and longevity in the most demanding applications. Designed to be compliant with the American Petroleum Institute’s API-610 standard (10th edition, OH2 configuration) and ISO 13709, these pumps are ideal for petrochemical and oil refinery applications, the company says. Features that contribute to the long service life and low maintenance requirements of the RPH family include a special pressure balancing system that reduces bearing forces, generously sized roller and ball bearings, highly effective mechanical seals (as per API 682, 3rd edition) and the availability of corrosion-resistant alloys (including Super Duplex SS) for all wetted components. The back pull-out design means that the motor, bearings, seals and impeller can all be removed for service without disturbing the casing or piping. Moreover, with a wide range of configurations available, designers will find it straightforward to get a good match between optimal duty point and system requirements. RPH pumps are available with flow rates of up to 4,800 m3/hr (21,100 US gpm), maximum heads of 285 m (935 ft), and operating temperatures between -110 and 450 degrees C. www.ksb.ca
