Sept. 18, 2015 – Denso Robotics says its VS-050 six-axis aseptic robot, which features an ISO 5 cleanroom rating, is designed for applications where biocontamination control is required.

According to the company, a protective outer coating and sealed joints allow the VS-050 to be safely sterilized with hydrogen peroxide or UV light. The rounded exterior of the robot has no external screws, which helps to keep dirt, dust or other contaminants from adhering to its surface. Wires are internally embedded up to the flange and the control-cable connector is located on the bottom of the robot. The VS-050 aseptic model has a cycle time of 0.37 sec. and repeatability of ±0.02 mm, with a reach of 520 mm and a payload capacity of 4 kg. Typical applications of the VS-050 include assembly, dispensing, inspection, machine tending, material handling, packaging and test handling.
