July 30, 2018 - Panasonic has introduced a new pair of sleek handheld devices to its Toughbook line, designed to make the workplace more responsive.

The Toughbook T1 (FZ-T1) has a slim profile and smaller bezels along with a five-inch screen that runs AndroidTM 8.1, OreoTM. It's designed to MIL-STD-810G standards and IP66/68 rated. Retail workers, warehouse employees and transportation and logistics professionals can scan barcodes on-the-go with an integrated barcode reader and high-speed connectivity.

The Toughbook L1 (FZ-L1) is a seven-inch rugged tablet computer that can be handheld or mounted and runs Android 8.1, Oreo. It has an integrated barcode reader that is field-configurable for landscape or portrait modes. The FZ-L1 is designed to meet MIL-STD-810G standards and has been IP65/67 rated.

Both the T1 and the L1 boast user replaceable batteries with the ability to “warm swap” them on-the-fly to reduce downtime. Each is available in two models – one with Wi-Fi only and another offering voice and data connection, as well as data connectivity through P.180, Panasonic’s purpose-built network.

The two Toughbooks start at USD$1499 and will be available in Canada in October 2018.
