Faced with shipping errors, inventory accuracy issues and weak supply chain management, Lakeside Plastics, a mid-sized Canadian plastic injection moulder, implemented Solarsoft iVP to solve its issues and strengthen enterprise-wide control.

Solarsoft iVP, an ERP system developed for discrete manufacturers in intensive supply chains, manages Lakeside’s financial operations, EDI, inventory, materials planning and order processing. Lakeside also implemented Solarsoft’s Mattec MES manufacturing execution system, which eliminates manual processes and provides real-time production monitoring and control. The system integrates with Solarsoft’s iVP ERP system to provide a clearer picture of operations on the shop floor, and to enable more accurate planning and execution to meet customer demands.

“Solarsoft has enabled Lakeside Plastics to not only survive during the most difficult years of the automotive industry; it has provided the company with a competitive advantage that has allowed us to grow and expand,” said Glenn Coates, president of Lakeside Plastics. “We’re now even better positioned as a trusted supplier that is willing and able to adapt to meet the ever-evolving needs of the industry and the automakers.”

In fact, Lakeside earned automotive industry recognition and a 15-percent increase in business when it integrated Solarsoft ERP software with Mattec MES manufacturing execution system.
