Sonepar Canada has appointed a new president of Gescan as Jeff Derkuch plans to retire in July 2021.
Effective Jan. 11, Javi Richmond will join the company and officially take on the president role on Feb. 15. He and Derkuch will share duties until Apr. 1.
Derkuch, who has been at the helm of the electrical supplies distribution company for more than 19 years, will wind down projects after Apr.1 until his retirement date.
“[Jeff] has contributed to the growth of the company in many aspects, making Gescan a great organization within the electrical industry,” says the company in a statement.
Richmond was previously the managing director at Weidmüller Ltd. Canada for two years. Prior to that, he worked for EB Horseman for a total of 12 years, serving for seven years as vice-president of sales and operations.
Richmond will be based out of the Gescan Calgary head office.
