Javelin and Cimetrix announce merger plans

May 8, 2018 – Javelin Technologies and Cimetrix Solutions have announced plans to merge, forming what they describe as an additive manufacturing powerhouse that will provide a “new level of service and support” for Canadian engineers and manufacturers.

Founded in 1997, Javelin Technologies is an Oakville, Ontario-based 3D solution reseller with expertise in industrial automation, 3D design engineering, product data management and additive manufacturing in plastic and metal.

Oshawa, Ontario-based Cimetrix Solutions is a provider of professional grade Stratasys 3D printers for both commercial and academic verticals. For the past 20 years, Cimetrix has supported its customers with solutions consisting of 3D printing technology, software, design, implementation and training services.

The senior management team for the integrated company will consist of Javelin’s John Carlan and Ted Lee and Cimetrix’s James Janeteas. The integrated company will operate locations across Canada, with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Kitchener, Oakville, Oshawa, Montreal, and Dartmouth.

“Our focus has always been on taking care of our customers by understanding what drives their business and providing solutions that affect the bottom line,” Janeteas said. “I’m excited because by combining our expertise and resources, we can be even more responsive and provide even deeper application knowledge and advice.”

According to a joint press statement from the companies, Javelin will continue to be known as Javelin Technologies and Cimetrix will be referred to as Cimetrix Solutions, a division of Javelin Technologies.

“Joining Javelin and Cimetrix means we’re putting ourselves exactly where our customers will be and will need us to be,” Lee said.
