January 8, 2019 – The science of robotics and automation has come a long way since Asimov's laws, not least in coming to encompass a far wider range of devices than Asimov ever imagined. Now robots take forms ranging from industrial arms, military drones or Boston Dynamics’ "Big Dog," through to DNA and protein robots designed to aid in surgery and medical applications.
January 4, 2019 – Despite a somewhat rocky year for the robotics industry, Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), developer of autonomous mobile robots, says it nearly tripled its sales in 2018.  
January 3, 2019 – Robotiq, the Quebec-based provider of tools and software for collaborative robots, has raised $31 million in funding from global investment firm Battery Ventures. As part of the transaction, Jesse Feldman, a Battery general partner who specializes in industrial technology investments, will join Robotiq’s board.
December 21, 2018 – RightHand Robotics, a Boston-based robotic piece-picking solutions provider, has secured $23 million in a Series B funding round, which the company will use to expand business and technical teams, and to broaden its suite of product applications. 
November 30, 2018 – LMI Technologies (LMI), a 3D scanning and inspection specialist, has had its Gocator 3D snapshot sensors certified for integration with Universal Robots (UR) cobots.

October 18, 2018 – Honeywell is partnering with Fetch Robotics to provide distribution centres with autonomous mobile robots to help them more effectively fulfill growing volumes of e-commerce orders.
