CME names Manufacturer of the Year

Four manufacturers were honoured recently for their dedication to excellence and pursuit of global success at the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters’ 2011 Canadian Innovation Awards in Ottawa, Ont.

Toronto-based Celestica, a provider of innovative supply chain solutions, took home the top accolade as Canadian Manufacturer of the Year. The company employs 35,000 people at 15 facilities worldwide, and provides supply chain solutions that include design, engineering services, manufacturing, fulfillment and aftermarket services across a multitude of sectors.

“The Canadian Innovation Awards highlight the outstanding accomplishments of Canadian businesses competing and winning on the world stage,” said Jayson Myers, president and CEO of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME). “Each award winner is a leader in their respective field, and are models of excellence for others to emulate.”

The awards were presented at a luncheon held in conjunction with CME’s Business2Business Forum on June 14. Other recipients include:
• Global Business of the Year – BRP
•  Innovative New Technology Award – Cavet Technologies
• Innovator of the Year Award – Dolphin Digital Technologies
