Deadline extended for 2011 Sustainability Awards

In recognition of the innovative and forward-thinking work of the business community in environmental protection, Partners in Project Green is calling for submissions for the 2011 Sustainability Awards. The deadline for applications is August 15, 2011.
The awards will recognize one business in each of the following four sectors: Hospitality, Office, Manufacturing and Logistics. This year’s theme is “Sustainability Leaders.”
The honoured companies must demonstrate excellence in all of the following three areas:
1.Technology and practice: Testing and/or implementing cutting-edge environmental technologies or practices
2.Behaviour: Integrating sustainability deeply into operational practices
3.Influence: Inspiring and encouraging employees and peers to take action on the environment
Nominated businesses must be members of Partners in Project Green, and/or located within the Pearson Eco-Business Zone. The business cannot have won a Partners in Project Green award in the past three years. The project or initiative must have been initiated within the last 36 months. Applicants from previous years can reapply if significant changes have occurred.
All submissions are to be made to Jennifer Taves at jtaves@trca.on.ca. The award winners will be announced and recognized at the Partners in Project Green fall networking gala on Thursday, October 13, 2011.
