A new document outlining secure PLC coding practices is now available from the ISA Global Cybersecurity Alliance (ISAGCA) and admeritia GmbH.

The Top 20 Secure PLC Coding Practices document aims to provide a list of coding practices for PLC programmers that have benefits for the IT security of PLCs and the plants they control.

This public-sourced document drew input from ISAGCA members and leaders, as well as experts from around the world, in response to an industry need for engineers who are programming and configuring PLCs to learn security best practices.

Engineers who are implementing ladder logic, function charts and other software can use the document to ensure security of their industrial control systems.
