Universal Robots recently appointed Anurag Thakur as its new vice-president of service and aftermarket, effective February 1, 2024.
Thakur will work with existing company leaders to continue to grow UR’s collaborative robot (cobot) Academy and to ensure that customers are well supported throughout their automation journey with progressive service and value added offerings.
“Understanding the unique needs of each customer is absolutely critical to offering world class service and aftermarket care. This role is ultimately about maximizing the value that our customers get from their cobots, helping them to be as productive as possible across the entire operational lifecycle of the product,” said Thakur.
Based in Colorado, USA, he has extensive experience of developing customer support having led service businesses in various technology companies.
President Kim Povlsen said, “With an install base of over 75,000 cobots, it is more important than ever that we consider customer care post-deployment. We are committed to every customer’s success and an exciting new range of technical capabilities, from AI to predictive maintenance, will soon help us offer our customers support at a whole new level.”
Thakur’s role will involve close work with partners and end customers.
